Sarica is a legislator for the Efithian Senate and an adviser to the Sacred Council and the temples. His expertise in law helps the senators make the right decisions, though for whom is the question. He travels often to the border regions of the country and aids the military in their offense against Reece with communication to and from the Capital. A deft and ruthless politician with a grand network and many equally powerful friends, Sarica is not to be taken lightly.

Juila, formerly serving at a villa in the East State, was bought by Sarica from a slave trader and thereafter, freed to do paid labour for him at his residence where from all the slaves had fled along with Timachus and his lover, a theft which started the Second Reecian War. Although the name, Timachus, is currently off limits in her household, Juila knows one or two things about what goes on behind the grand political stage and is talkative enough if approached in the right way and with the right kind of payment.

Born and raised in the South State, near Reecian border territory, Essi is of a pedigree merchant family enjoying great influence in the temple city of Dasud. However, when she falls in love with and sneakily also marries the much older General Haphestos, she must start a new life in the Capital where he's soon stationed. She knows much about the border territories and the conditions there, is a strategic, resourceful young woman and one willing to strike alliances for the sake of what she believes in, a peaceful Efith.

Born in the North State as a girl of the ghettoes (the lowest-income community), Eni began manifesting her association with the wind already as a three year old, but because her parents couldn't afford travelling across the country to the East State, she stayed at home and developed her powers on her own until age eight, when she - calling down a tornado over her entire neighbourhood - was sent with a merchant going to the East State anyway to be dropped off at the Wind Temple there. That was the last she saw of her parents. The Wind Temple took her in and the priestesses there became her family and she received training under a learned mentor who understood that Eni's association with wind was in particular connected to wind force and wind speed and the manipulation of these factors. Eni can manipulate existing tornadoes as well as create new ones from gusts of wind in the air. Some ten years ago she was, as one of the youngest ever, made High Priestess in the Sacred Council and is in charge of all communication between the Wind Temple in the East State and the Capital as well as law-making decisions.

Timachus was, as a young boy, brought from his native Reece to Efith as a slave and grew up in the house of a scholar who recognised his talent for writing and, against customs, decided to teach Timachus alongside the other men he was a teacher to. This was how Sarica discovered him and eventually bought him for himself, not to have him serve as a slave in his household, but to set him free and take him as a lover. For many years, they lived together like that, Sarica raising Timachus up as a poet and making Timachus his official heir (akin to a marriage), until Timachus met the fire priest, Otanius, whom he fell in love with and who talked him into fleeing from Sarica, going back to Reece under the cover of darkness. In Reece, he has helped lead the rebel armies against the Efithian war effort that has broken loose as Sarica has become hellbent on getting Timachus back, using all Efith's resources to do it. Whatever way it takes.
